We finally had a chance to go see Storm’s one woman show, Crazy Enough last night. Having known Storm for close to 11 years now, it’s been really incredible to see the path she’s taken, the hard, hard work she’s put into getting where she is and I’m so proud of her. Not only is Storm incredibly talented, but she is one of the most honest, most sincere, warm hearted people you will ever meet. No hyperbole, she is the real deal and it’s why I love the shit out of her.
I have always wanted to see her explode, the world would be a better place with more Storm in it and she’s on her way. The one woman show was reminiscent of going to see her in the clubs back in the day, some music, some talk, some theatrics, a little bit of everything. What was different though, was the completely honest, exposed, raw truth about her life that the show was built around. It takes a lot to open yourself up like that to anyone, much less to a room full of strangers for 8 shows a week. It was awesome.
If you don’t know Storm Large yet, familiarize yourself (her name is linked to her site above). She has one of the best voices you’ll ever hear, she’s gorgeous, she’s funny and most of all she’s real. She’s my kinda lady…loud, opinionated and unapologetic about it. I know I’m not a wallflower by any stretch, but every time I see her or hang out with her, I’m reminded that it’s a wonderful thing to be who we all are, no matter what that is, to embrace it and celebrate it.
The play has been extended to June 28th (congrats Stormy) and I highly recommend you take the time to go see it. You can learn more about it and get tickets here.

Hi, Lisa! Off-Topic (I’m not on Twitter or Facebook yet and can’t reach you that way), but on Friday, July 3rd at 11 p.m. Cinema 21’s showing “Team America: World Police.” 6 bucks. I won’t be there because “The Empire Strikes Back” will be at the Bagdad at the same time, but I wanted you to know in case you wanted to go.
And further extended to August 16! More options to see her… go Storm!
That rules, congrats Stormy!
I can’t believe I just found your blog…I remember reading your posts as one of the most eloquent supporters of Storm back during the RSSN days, and finally realizing I recognized your name (we graduated HS together, who knew)…you know, your advocacy of Storm back in the day, led to becoming a fan of hers myself…she won me over live, when I went to the a RSSN taping in LA, and subsequently a handful of SATB shows, along w/an interview that a fellow fan and I did w/her way back in 06…the images I took of her from that show are still some of my faves, and probably what lead me down the path I follow today…I didnt get to go down to PDX for this show…but can only imagine it was as spectacular as the woman…
