There are many, many things I loathe about Sean Hannity, but most of the time, I choose to ignore him. He is not a journalist, he doesn’t report news or facts and he’s one of the most ignorant broadcasters out there. When it comes to news stories, I try to focus on good things, positive things or at least in a negative story, what can be done to make things better.

Sean Hannity made light of the recent discoveries that the Bush administration did in fact give permission to torture, did in fact unlawfully torture people (which in and of itself should have people arrested), by shrugging off water boarding like it’s no big deal and saying that he would agree to be water boarded for charity, for the troops families.

It’s no secret that I think Keith Olbermann is fantastic. I love his style, but moreover, I have a great deal of respect for the fact that he has the balls to call people out on their bullshit. During the election he donated $100 out of his pocket to the Alaska Special Olympics for every lie that Sarah Palin told. He wound up donating thousands.

He is holding Sean Hannity to his word, with a promise to give the troops families $1000 for every second Hannity lasts through water boarding and with a promise to double it when Sean Hannity admits that he feared for his life and that water boarding is, in fact, torture.

To trivialize such a serious situation on national television is reprehensible. Hannity needs to make good on his word and maybe, just maybe he will realize how wrong he is.

I just recorded a song with some friends/co-workers.

But you need the backstory…

We did a promotion with Best Buy (they just opened a music instruments & performance section). Our afternoon DJs Cort & Bobby were offered 6 weeks of lessons on guitar and bass if they made a band and played one set.

They did a contest with our listeners, picked a singer and drummer and played one set of covers at the store under the name “Meh”, because they felt incredibly mediocre.

We had an awesome local band, The Punk Group open for them at the event. Afterwards the Punk Group guys told us that they were soliciting bands to cover their songs for a “Punk Group Covers” album and they wanted “Meh” to do one.

Cort & Bobby enlisted another of our co-workers, Tony for drums and me for vocals. We spent last Saturday in a studio who offered to record it for us (huge thanks to them….Black Diamond Recording Studios) and now have a new song.

Keep in mind, we are COVERING the Punk Group’s song. Their lyrics, based on the MSNBC show “To Catch a Predator.” It’s called “Online Predator” and you can hear the original here.
