Now the Work Begins.
Haven’t had much time, busy, busy, but we did it. Yes, we did. Yes, we can. Yes, yes, yes!
You must know though, the election is just the beginning. The past 8 years have left us worse off than we were almost 70 years ago during the great depression. It’s the result of corruption, greed, deregulation and a government who seems to have forgotten about the good of the people, who’s forgotten the ideas and principles this country was built on. The system has broken down and needs to be rebuilt. This is not an easy fix and I do not envy the job that Obama has just taken on, but I think he is a good choice to lead us through it.
This is a COLLECTIVE effort that needs to come from us all. Not one side or another, not us against them…all of us, TOGETHER. Personal responsibility. Every single one of us has to work, we need to contribute to our communities and be a part of the change that we want to see happen. Even if the change you want to see might be different from your neighbor or your family, work toward the things you want to happen. Don’t go on the idea that you have no role in this or that you will be taken care of.
Obama is a smart man, he is an effective leader and he is on the right track, but he is one man. He can’t do it all. Yes we STILL can! Keep that fire, passion and drive that you had working for the election and put it to work every single day!
And to quote the man himself…here are some very wise words to bear in mind:
“We are not a nation of red states and blue states. There is not a liberal America or a conservative America. There is the United States of America. It’s not just enough to change the players, we’ve got to change the game.” –Barack Obama
