Yesterday, John McCain released statements stating he would suspend his campaign immediately to address the econimic bailout. That he would pull all advertising, pull up stakes from the campaign trail and put his full focus on this crisis. He did no such thing.

In yet another PR move, all talk and no action McCain made just one more move that blatantly lies to the American people. How stupid do they think we are?

He cancelled his appearance on Letterman stating he had to immediately head back to DC, when he in fact, went down the hall to do an interview with Katie Couric instead and remained in NYC until the next morning. Letterman’s diatribe about the matter was brilliant and you can watch it here.

Today McCain campaign managers were all over TV, on multiple networks, doing what? Campaigning.

McCain TV ads ran in cities across the country today, no suspension there.

McCain campaign offices across the county were called about the campaign suspension. Responses were “What suspension?” and “We’re still fully operating, there’s been no suspension.”

McCain spoke today, the day his campaign is supposed to be suspended, at the Clinton Global Initiative meeting. That is neither focused on the economic crisis or suspending his campaign.

McCain’s camp told CNN that they think the first presidential debate, originally scheduled for tomorrow should be moved to replace the VP debate scheduled for next week, making many think that this has all been a plan to keep Palin from having to debate.

If the McCain campaign feels Palin is a strong enough candidate to be running for Vice President, they must stop shielding her, treating her as though she’s the girl in the bubble, a delicate flower who will break at the first shot. They need to let her speak and prove her worth.

When Katie Couric asked Sarah Palin for specific examples, even one, of McCain pushing for more regulation in his 26 years, Palin responded with a stammer, “I’ll try to find ya some and I’ll bring ‘em to ya.”

We must come together and stand firm against a BLANK CHECK for 700 Billion dollars to bail out rich, irresponsible executives and companies. There needs to be a plan with transparency, accountability and protection for the American people.

These debates MUST go on. There’s never been a more important time for the men who are vying to be the next President of the United States, to speak to the American People.

Speak up, fight for what’s just, get involved and do something.
